George Clinton & His Parliament Funkadelecs put on an energetic performance at Nathan City Square in Toronto on Friday night. The free show was part of the TD Jazz Festival in the city. Now 74 years old, the one-time doo-wop singer has greatly influenced a generation of rap and hip hop artists and continues to tour, record and write songs.

MOLLY SINGS BILLIE ON NEW ALBUM
Popular jazz diva and former CBC Radio 2 host Molly Johnson has tied in with Universal Music Canada to record an album of Billie Holiday songs that she has called Because… The Billie Project.
With funding through Pledge Music, Molly writes on her campaign page: “For years people have said to me ‘you are so much like Billie Holiday’, and my answer has been: “no, I am because of Billie.”
