Rob Goes In!
"a word to everyone who thinks they understand people from the Bronx. You probably don't. We're a lot more than hip hop and old graffiti. We're more than a few train lines and Yankee Stadium. We're more than rusted basketball courts and jail sentences. And we all don't write in the syncopated "CaPiTaL tHeN LoWeRcAsE LeTteRz & RePlAcE EvErY S With a Z" We are scholars and musicians, photographers and artists, culinary wizards and filmmakers. We are businessmen and women, and future law makers and community builders when there is very little community to build on sometimes. We are mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and neighbors. We are not a city of just bodegas and hoodlums. We have culture and we venture past the paper bag mentality of the crack epidemic and low income housing fires. We also do not tolerate hipsters and tomfoolery. We tolerate truth. We will eat you alive if you front and we'll never deny you if you're honest. We don't bullshit north of 133rd street. This is to the people of the Bronx who understand that we are living in the moment where we can make our borough proud. This wasn't copied from some random website. This is honest and spontaneous and from the heart. This is also from a Bronx native. I'm about my borough."
