It’s crazy to think that in my passion for working out, bodybuilding, and to be aesthetic and in shape, my idol is DLB considering I feel like most guys would choose Phil Heath, Kai Green, Jay Cutler, Arnold...some guy.
I idolize DLB and Robb Bailey because of their work ethic, their ability to smile through the hate, and their undying dedication to family, friends, and fans. To me inspiration runs further than seeing the best and wanting to be them. Inspiration comes from the everyday attitude and behaviors of the person. I don’t want to consider someone who is an a-hole a hero because they are the best. I want to consider someone who is a good person through-and-through a hero. To me DLB and Robb Bailey are those people.
It’s understandable that people are going to insult you on social networking, because not everyone likes the same thing, but it’s also understandable that those comments on repetitive basis are going to make even the strongest person feel like crap. The ability to ignore and overcome in everyday life is what defines your strength outside of the gym. Also, your ability to accept who you are and what your body looks like makes you stronger. I am always working on trying to accept my body and appreciate what my hard work has accomplished. But I am not there yet.
This post and DLBs response to it all is impressive, and if you aren’t somewhat inspired to try and push the noise aside, and pursue whatever you want, idk what else you could possibly need.
