The Stupendous Vinyl Session of 2026 number twenty-five: Screaming For Vengeance, by Judas Priest

Judas Priest is one of the greatest metal acts of all time. Their legacy spans decades and never seems to slow down. Rob Halford is one of the most triumphant examples of The New Guy becoming *the* guy. The face of the band, and their defining member. British Steel is an absolute banger, as is Killing Machine, but Screaming For Vengeance is absolute peak Judas Priest.

You've Got Another Thing Coming is just raw power, with Rob's megaton vocals, punctuated by the artillery barrage of guitar and drums in every blessed second. Breaking the Law and Living After Midnight are two other personal favorites, in an album that's wall-to-wall classic heavy metal.

Rob Halford is easily in my top ten vocalists for heavy metal. The man can belt out raw power, and hit notes the shear the eardrums, all while jumping around the stage like a maniac.

Also, I love that man.
