So I actually started an original webcomic back in uhhhh 2012?? I think (whaaat) called GEM and I worked on it on and off for a long time as I was going to school, but I’m no longer currently updating it. It used to have its own website but I couldn’t justify paying for that anymore unfortunately, but you can still read it on tumblr here: https://gemcomic.tumblr.com/

I loved making it but in the end it turned out to be so much work (color and aesthetic was EXTREMELY important to me and MAN that took so much time) that it became impractical, not to mention that as time passed I was becoming a much better artist and it was hard for me not to be dissatisfied with my earlier work and just generally wanting to change the story around. Even though I made about 80 comic pages I BARELY tapped into the story or even introduced the whole main cast! But I didn’t want to rush things or make them feel inorganic, so I started feeling really stuck.

The story is still very, very dear to my heart and I still want to do a lot with it, and still draw my OC’s from it all the time!!! I’ve thought about writing it as a novel (if anything just to Finish The Story) but the visuals are so important that I’m not sure. So still figuring out what I can do with it! 

A for the OC in question his name is Benitoite Tanzen (lol) but he goes by Bee. He is a gentle blue-themed soul with a quiet nature, healing powers, and a desire to find and fix his family who he believes to be in trouble.

He’s childhood friends with the protagonist Owl (red haired girl) and is thoughtful, perceptive, and kind, if a little bit blunt and fairly cold to those he doesn’t know yet. He’s the calm foil to Owl’s more explosive nature (most of the time anyway). Also he can be accidentally very funny
