North Korean flag spotted at closed road-side stop in California

  Unhygenic water, not-so-comfortable seats, dirty kitchen, bad exhaust management & poor interior (or exterior) decoration. Go ahead make all your judgments, do what you gotta do. 

I can’t tell you how much I pity the posh and dandy, who adjust the placements of all the spoons and forks on a white table cloth while they are waiting for their order. How many have lived their lives with out trying out a street side restaurant like this. Is it our health phobia kicking in? or our weakened immune system fed my modern medicine that are prone to diseases easily?

Lemme come back to the point. Whatever you’ve thought negative about the above picture, it’s all wrong. The Cook/Owner is a Brahmin (very Religious/Veggie by Birth). The food was very hygienic and so so so tasty, in fact we tasted everything he makes. That guy is also a serious disciple of Anjaneya (wiki it if you don’t know who that is). I can say so, coz I was lip-reading him when he was making vada. He chanted “Jai Anjaneya” (in his mind; not out loud) every time he makes one vada in his pan. Religious comments aside, I was astonished by his commitment to his business & customers. I mean how many of em do you see these days? and he made constant eye contact and checked on us if we needed anything as our plates were getting over. The place got crowded in no time and even though we stood idle for a while (oh yeah we were standing; and we didn’t care coz the food was so good), we never regretted even a tiny bit of it. Coz he apologized coz he was attending all the customers and we almost melted like wax, coz of his outstanding service with smile. And the guy wouldn’t take a tip, even after we insisted. But we were all so happy at last, talking of ‘Happy’, this is what I’d call “A Happy meal” ;P

coming back to the initial comments that I made

 not-so-comfortable seats – I was gonna sit, but my friend Ramesh said to the owner that it’s k to stand coz we are all youngsters, and I didn’t want to sound like a wuss asking for a seat after that. Thanks to Ramesh (~!@#$%^&*…)

dirty kitchen – kitchen might look dirty and old, but the food was so good and hygienic (Zero house-flies and also I could tell by the mere taste of the food; FYI my taste buds have never failed me so far). Plus I love the old/rusty look than a shiny new look.

bad exhaust management – It was a lil smoky but hey, the aroma did attract us initially, why not to try out

poor interior (or exterior) decoration – trust me when you can’t take your mind off of your food, everything else around you slowly fades away.
