The lack of support Rm’s new collab is getting from armys…you can tell that this fandom straight up doesn’t care about him and Hobi like they are overall liked because they are “non-threatening”, but they simply do not have the support Jin, Suga and of course the maknae line have.
If kpop thought me something is that popular idols who receive support have solo stans and shippers behind them like it doesn’t matter how annoying they are they represent the backbone of the idol.
You know, there is also the option of Armys simply not liking the song, especially for those who are just into BTS or K-Pop because it's a different style compared to what they probably usually listen.
And let's not fool ourselves, you can't expect for all members of a group to be equally popular and chapter 2 will reveal that more and more. And will also show that ot7 for life is not as solid as army likes to think. Also, I'm not going to judge someone for simply not digging a song and leave it at that. The song may as well be a masterpiece, but if it doesn't work for the BTS fan demographic, then it will lack support. This situation at least shows they're not all some robots who stream and call everything a masterpiece as they usually do with BTS songs. The collabs and solo albums will reflect each member's musical choices and taste, which perhaps won't always work for the entire fandom. They are not obligated to do anything they don't like. And of course, popularity doesn't mean everything. And not every song must have a certain number of views because some fans set some goals. This could be a perfect time to show some individual choice. Not everyone is into what RM or Hobi release and not everyone will be into what the maknae line releases, but the reality is that they could have a different type of support because of the popularity aspect. To me, this is not surprising. It's not like RM was ever in top 3 popular members in the group. It is what it is. And as I always say, streaming and numbers should not be the ultimate goal for every song released and big numbers don't necessarily reflect quality.
