as a girl group stan on twitter, mina’s seen lots of news about up and coming girl groups that were ready to debut. in her time on the site, she was able to witness the debut of four of her top favorite groups (she technically saw convex debut through her mutuals on twitter too, but they’re not a girl group). she’s seen groups debut, disband, lose members, and, in one situation, she saw them in preparation but never debut. they never said a reason why, so all upcoming fans were left in the dark. instead, all they left was a “cancellation” notice from starship entertainment and all of her mutuals spamming their fancams in their replies with the caption “FLOP ENTERTAINMENT. LET AMARANTE DEBUT!!!”
time has passed and mina hasn’t really thought about them since. though she was upset about it, she learned to move on and just hope that wherever the members were right now that they were well. at the time, she told herself to only focus on the groups she was stanning at the time like she’z, tooice, and ats. however, it was obvious she had more groups to pay attention now that it makes her keep an eye for buskers who danced to their songs. she’s a bit of a perfectionist when it came to other people covering her faves, so she liked to observe them and see how they danced to their choreography.
and it’s what happens today. mina walking through the city only to stop and stare at a dancer dancing to a choreography she thinks she’s seen on the 1million channel before. intrigued, she watches the performance. however, there was lingering thought in her head as she watched the girl perform. a thought that made her think “do i know this girl? i swear i’ve seen this girl before.” however, it wasn’t until the end that she realized she had seen that face before. it just looks different because she’s older!
once she ends her performance and people go on their way, mina finds herself walking to the other girl with a little bit of excitement. she tries to calm herself down so that she can be able to hold a conversation without scaring the other off. “hi! this is going to sound super weird,” she says with a small bashful laugh, “but i think i’ve seen you somewhere before. i know you’re a dancer, but are you an idol by any chance?” if she isn’t one, she hopes she at least takes the question as a compliment. hopefully.
