I still can't believe I'm in this place right now. I remember when you first told me that Petra has feelings for me. Sometimes I wonder if I would even realize this later if it weren't for your stupid teasing.

I was dense, weren't I? I probably still am.

This is stupid. I'm telling you this only because I know you can't reply. My leg might be fucked up, but I'd probably find a way to kick you for teasing me.

Forget it.

When Lukas gets older, I'll tell him all about all of you.

Levi stopped writing and looked down at the ginger boy tugging on his leg. He scooped him from the floor and put him on his lap.

"I'm writing to your family. Do you want to add something?"

The boy looked at his father with a confused expression and grabbed the pen that he handed him. He stood up, propping himself on the table with his small hand, while Levi made sure he wouldn't fall from the wheelchair.

Levi watched as Lukas scribbled all over the letter. He put a lot of clumsy lines around "Hange" and looked up at his dad for approval. The man kissed the side of his head and made him sit again before folding the paper.

With Lukas still on his lap, he rolled to the bookshelf in their bedroom to put the letter in the box with the dozens of others he wrote during the last years.

Petra peaked through the opened bedroom door, and right after her the giant St. Bernard appeared in the passage.

"Are we ready for the walk?" she asked with a light smile. The sole look of it made Levi's body relax.

"I'm done. Let's go."
