━━ ♡ backstory!

born in versailles, france to abrielle and corban lebeau, cyrus is the fourth of six kids. the lebeau family are french socialites, known for their collection of expensive, classical art art and prestigious museums. they’re a family with status anywhere they are. and, in riverside, that status go unnoticed. when cyrus was just twelve years old, his parents were put in position to open and run a new museum opening in riverside, california. the nouveau monde, named by abrielle lebeau, is a take on the families traditional greek, french, and roman art with a modern twist. exhibits can include pieces inspired by the timeless renaissances art that take up most of the museums walls along with completely innovative works. growing up surrounded by art, cyrus built a great interest in the craft. and, at age fifteen would have his first among many paintings be displayed in the family’s museum. he’s a bit of a child protege.

in his early years of school in america, he went to a private arts school. cyrus spent a majority of his time perfecting his english and painting. even though he was being taught english in france, he pretty much only fluently spoke french. by highschool his english was close to fluent-- though, his accent was very prevalent in his speech. and, at the change of schools, his accent led to about a year and a half  of bullying from dumb jocks and assholes. their girlfriends thought it was hot so obviously they were just jealous.  cyrus was already a pretty soft spoken kid, so the constant teasing was enough for him to become a secluded kid. he hung around two other people (aye possible wc) who were also in his art classes. outside of that, the boy would spend the school day alone on sketching in his notebooks.

and a sketch is what led him to meet his first love, ivy. he saw her in his new biology class. it was the color of her hair that caught his eye, and flamed an inspiration in him. she was awe-inspiring. during class, he’d find himself in the back of the class as per usual, drawing portraits of her. over a course of a few weeks, he’d drawn near a dozen small portraits of her while in class. it’s safe to say he wasn’t paying any attention to the biology lessons. it was on his tenth drawing when the usual shuffle to get out of class led to a purposeful collision by one of the jocks. knocking all of his papers out of his hands and on to the ground, one stood out among the class notes and homework assignments. his newest portrait of ivy. of course, the bullies had a field day. they ridiculed and embarrassed him infront of anyone within earshot. the fifteen year old couldn’t defend himself from the gang of guys, pushing and laughing at him. how could he? so when ivy headed over, he was expecting to feel ten times smaller than her already felt. 

but, she criticized the boys for their actions-- and frankly, stunned cyrus. 

that moment led to her starting up a conversation about the portraits with him (to which, the nervous teen was red faced, stuttering through it’s entirety.) ivy eventually asked him to sit with her at lunch and that was the start to a near two year relationship. the overall opinion of cyrus as the shy art kid was switched out to being the guy who got to date ivy. he was suddenly likable and invited to parties. despite the extra attention, he still remained introverted. really only wanting to spend time with ivy and gaining a few new friends he would have allied had he not been with ivy. (as a result he lost touch with the few friends he did have) the two of them were like magnets. she was his muse, his outlet. he got to be one hundred percent himself with her, she welcomed it. cyrus was able to speak french with someone who wasn’t in his family. (picture like this really cute couple, center in the school cafeteria just giggling and chatting in french w/ eachother  probably being a little inappropriate lol) she made him feel accepted. 

but, that acceptance didn’t come from either of their parents. cyrus’ in particular were dissatisfied with the girl’s status. they always want cyrus to marry some sort of heiress or prince-- anything with a lot of old money. ivy’s family were simple minded, in the eyes of abrielle and corban, and subsequently, they didn’t want to see this relationship last. there’s a lot of strain on both sides, only adding to the difficulty the two had remaining together. but cyrus was fervent in making their relationship work. he’d ignore his parents rude remarks in french (as if ivy couldn’t understand them...) and do whatever he had to in order to keep their relationship afloat.

that is, until she cheated on him. 

they broke up as soon as she told him, completely crushed the boy somehow blamed himself for all of it. and, to make matters worse, he didn’t go to prom for fear of seeing ivy. 

after graduation he’d go on to take a few art classes at the university (which he’d later teach himself) and helped run the family’s museum. 

━━ ♡ current life!   

currently co-parenting with the mother of his child, celestina. he met the woman in college, had one too many drinks, then they both found out they’d be parents! before this they were just classmates and friends. now, they’re co-parents without the slightest interest of actually being together. though they’re like best friends, still. cyrus also is head of operations at the museum and still paints his own works. he also teaches the painting class at the university occasionally.

mumbles to himself in french and english 

gives people who matter to him cute nicknames. ivy used to be petal or pétale. and celestina is dove or  colombe

really good dad. he’s really sweet, lets her paint beside him in his art room, teaches her french, and overall is just super soft. 

cannot cook anything other than basic things to survive. toast, baked chicken, and anything microwavable. 

has a ton of “mindless” tattoos. some of them are just doodles he, or someone he cares about drew that he just wanted tattooed. some are actually very meaningful, most aren’t. its just permanent art for him. got most of them in college-- and a few just recently. but, he did get his first tattoo, a rose on his forearm, in france while away to visit family at age 16.

likes any sort of sweets, hip pop, small cafes, warm brownies, cats, classic art, the smell of vanilla & grapefruit, really really greasy burgers,  classic films,  french food in general, waking up early to wake the sunrise, 

He’s the middle child of the Harris family and has tried to take advantage of the stereotype as he’s grown older, hoping his parents focus their attention on his younger brother.

He doesn’t take well to coaching or advice and while he has a crude sense of humor, he goes on the defensive when offensive comments are directed at him. 

He grew up watching Food Network instead of cartoons and has a love food -- though not for cooking for other people. 

Up until about two years ago, he was super close to his family. He made it a point to spend time with them all individually; even breaking his rule regularly and taking up the responsibility of family dinner. 

Thought the world of his sister but was disappointed when she came home so soon after leaving for college. What he viewed as her “failure to escape Riverside” has made him cynical of his chances of making it out of the town. 

The stress of an uncertain future has taken a toll on him since the middle of Junior year causing him to drop most of his extracurricular like soccer and track and most of his grades are suffering - except History, he puts in the effort to avoid hearing from his mother.

He has always wanted to leave Riverside but doesn’t know shit about what he wants to do or where he wants to end up. He was always hoping that he’d follow his sister wherever she went and that the rest would make sense later. 

He’s never been in a relationship; never kissed anyone until high school. He’s never wanted to waste time with short-term relationships thinking that being that committed to someone is not worth the stress. 

He’s attracted to dudes though has only acted on this very recently and only when he’s too drunk to remember the next day what he’s done. He would not outright turn down an advance from a girl but he would not pursue one either.
