you don't like the new kids who are getting closer? then she's now a solid wall of fluff to protect you from the kids you don't like.

tamarack doesn't do this because she's a pushover, but because she wants to show you that she loves and cares about you. and this means that, in order to show her that you love her, you have to treat the things that are important to her with care and respect.

but, in step 2, qiu is a character who remains very reserved in showing what they care about and what they don't care about. this is because as a child, they've been treated more as a commodity than a person. they were always the kid who put everyones interest over their own.

this, unsurprisingly, caused burnout as the years went on. because their feelings were never really prioritized, they learned that they should just stop caring.

this leads to friction between qiu and tamarack, because while qiu is being dismissive and distant as a way of coping, it comes off as uncaring and a lack of love from tamaracks side.

an obvious example is tamaracks love for the forest. instead of picking up their own fallen

papers, qiu instead makes a dry note and just lets their notes be litter.

anyways, context: I was thinking of possibilities for the 3rd movie, and I thought it'd be funny/kinda cool if Abby was the one who set Fazbear Frights on fire; that made me think of that meme of the girl in front of the burning house so I redrew that lmao
