               Ivan had known that heading back home for the summer would be a bad idea from the start, though this wasn’t something that had really registered until it was too late to go back and fix it. And from the moment he’d walked back into his parent’s life, straight to his father hung-over on the couch and his mother no-where to be seen, any hope Ivan had had about going back and it somehow being different was pulled away once again. He hadn’t warned them he was returning – not that he had any way to, or that it would have made much of a difference – and he falls back into place as though he hadn’t been away for almost a year.

               Though as much as he wanted it to be, going back to Palmetto just wasn’t something that was on the table. He’d already bought his return ticket for when summer was over, and definitely didn’t have the money to get a sooner flight (besides, it wasn’t as though he’d have wanted to tell Wymack or the others that he wanted to be back so quickly anyway.) But the next best thing - going to go and see one of the foxes who live nearby - is something that he does jump at the opportunity of.

               Although he hadn’t had the chance to get close to River over the last year, he finds himself looking forward to going to go and see them. Even if it is just to hang out without anything in particular in mind.

                Finding himself at the station they’d agreed to meet at earlier than intended, Ivan takes a seat in the first place available. He glances up to check the train timetable only to find it doesn’t have what he needs. So he pulls out his phone and instead just taps out a text to them.
