The first MLB Rivalry Weekend is here!
Did I miss anything cool over Rivalry Weekend? Let me know which game it was.
DON'T tell me what the cool thing was. I'll find out by watching the game from start to finish. I'll make it a priority.
Yes, I do intend to watch all 41 free games, even if it takes me till the All-Star break. I'll likely fast forward through a lot of them.
The anticipation for this Clemson-S. Carolina game is killing me.

Week 3 is over now and it’s time for the review!!!!!
Rivalry weekend is over in Major League Soccer and it was a thriller of a weekend. Major League Soccer had some great goals, hard tackles, tempers flaring, crowds chanting and singing and also you can’t cap off a great weekend without some controversy.
Up in Seattle, Washington we had the Cascade Cup being played between the Seattle Sounders FC and the Portland Timbers. Both teams have not started the season off as well as they would of like to. So now these two teams meet in week 3 and have an opportunity to change their season around. That would create a very heated game between two rivals that have a long heated history against one another.
Portland wanted to come into Seattle and attempt to ruin the Sounders parade, every fan in Seattle was on high since the Sounders had just sign Nigerian International striker Oba Martins. Everyone thought that great energy for Seattle would lead them to convincing victory over their rivals.
However, Portland would have other plans but the Timbers knew that they were going have to hold off the Sounders ruthless and relentless attack in the beginning of the game. Seattle would fly out of the gates and score an early goal in the 13th minute of the match. U.S. International Eddie Johnson would bury in the ball into the back of the net of a brilliant cross from Steve Zakuani.
The Timbers would not give up though Portland would enter the half only down by one goal and still very much in the game. The Sounders would not stop on the attack and they would keep on pushing for that second goal, but the Timbers finally would get their big break in the 90th minute when defender Rodney Wallace would head in the goal that would end the welcoming party in Seattle for Oba Martins. The game would end 1-1 and this would be a crucial road point for the Timbers and for the Sounders they just want to move on as quickly as possible (To see the highlights of this game watch the video on the top).
Another game that was full of late goals and controversy was the match between FC Dallas and Houston. FC Dallas came into this game with week 2, 3-1 lost to Chivas USA still fresh in their minds and they wanted to get it out of their memory. What better way to do it then to beat your rivals at home. FC Dallas was ready to take down the Houston Dynamo, the minute the ref started the game Dallas attacked with no remorse and got 2 goals in the first half and also got one goal taken away in the first half by an off sides call, Brasilian midfielder Jackson was clearly not off sides and the goal was taken away from Dallas.
Dynamo would storm back in the second half with 2 unanswered goals from FC Dallas defensive errors. The game had turn into a Texas duel, the game was tied at 2 goals apiece and there was no clear sign of who would win the game. However, FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper and his arm would change the score and win the game for FC Dallas, the refs did not call a handball and that would be the end to this crazy but fun Texas Derby (Click on this link to see the highlights of this matchhttp://youtu.be/3E5jCH2X7SU).
The Rocky Mountain Cup was another match that was full of drama and bad blood between both Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids. Real Salt Lake would be at home and were looking to beat down Colorado in front of their faithful and passionate fans. Real Salt Lake had been the more dominate team as off late in this Rocky Mountain Cup and they looked to keep it that way.
Colorado was not going to let history repeat its self and in the first half Colorado took advantage of Real Salt Lake slow start and was bombarding Real Salt Lake back line over and over again. Colorado rookie forward Deshorn Brown was becoming a huge headache for the Real Salt Lake defense, this speedy forward was burning past the defense and finally in the 37th minute Deshorn Brown would get a well deserved goal and gave Colorado the lead a few minutes before halftime.
After that goal Real Salt Lake finally woke up and began to charge at Colorado with everything they had in their arsenal. Real Salt Lake was not about to lose at their home to their bitter rivals. Under-20 U.S. star Luis Gill was again pulling the strings for Real Salt Lake but he also had help from super sub Joao Plato. The little Ecuadorian and Luis Gill would keep on pressuring Colorado defense, and time after time Colorado got close to breaking. Finally in the 86th minute Costa Rican International Alvaro Saborio would score the tying goal. The play was created by Luis Gill and Joao Plato and finished by Saborio putting the ball in the back of the net.
The momentum had changed into Real Salt Lakes favor and Colorado was just hoping for the end of the game to come as soon as possible, before the game would be over Real Salt Lake would give the Rapids a few more scares but in the end the first game of the Rocky Mountain Cup would end in a very entertain tie (Click on this link to see the highlights of this match http://youtu.be/PdvD6TH11us).
