If anyone knew the other better, it was he -- though he would never admit it. Noa was someone from his past who pissed him off. Yet, he was always finding new ways to one-up him. Though he didn't even remember the last time he smiled, or last, it was most likely the same for the other. Ego spent years away from the spot, light, while watching the other gain everything he wished.
BUT AS JOKES GO, he was sure he wasn't going to be really laughed at -- just in seeing how the other's brain worked, he could mock him, tell him everything he was doing wrong. And yet, Ego didn't care; his brain worked symbolically and differently from the others. He was left alone for a long time, to his own thoughts, his own games. He fought alone for years. Though no matter what, having him hear -- even close to him was bothersome. Sitting in that chair, his eyes simply stay glued to the screens. His mind was always turning, always thinking about something new, so it was amusing to hear the other speak.
" I've seen it back when we were younger. Nowadays. You're a robot." Anyone who enjoys something would be able to see how happy someone could be. Maybe Ego was just lucky to have been one of the only people to see what he used to be like. Eyes shifted as the other sat next to him, and he never adjusted. Never moved, just turned his attention back to the screens. " I haven't. I can't. " The wound from those words hurt, though his voice made it sound as always harsh --- and following from what he went with. He rolled his eyes.
" I was asked at first. Trying to help a dying project grow. This is what THEY wanted. At first, I saw it as a loss. But the more I sit here and watch the new blood," he trailed off for a moment. " Then, when I found those ones that I felt could grow, it became an even bigger project. One to be able to help, and one to help gain. " Would he come out and say it? Say yes to his pride? Or would the other really understand without the words to show it? Noa wasn't dumb; if anyone knew the way he thought, it would have been him.
They were both crazy in their own ways.
