TimWeek! One of Tim's least favourite things was feeling like he was being pitied. When we talked, it would be for hours on end, often sacrificing sleep. During some of these conversations, I would bring up temporary or permanent solutions to his problem, and we would butt heads because he thought I was pitying him or being condescending. Most times, he felt as if he was correct in what he was doing, and favoured figuring out things for himself over accepting help from others. His obstinacy was simultaneously infuriating and laudable. Dude, there are NO people like you. You are fucking irreplaceable. And for others: make sure you don't forget to live. To explore all of your potential. TimWeek! Well, we both loved video games. I still do, but time is limited, so they're on the backburner. I would always go to his house to play games. I had a hand-me-down NES with a copy of Mario Bros. I got from some dude. Needless to say, I got tired of playing the same game over and over. Growing up with no money, I was a slight bit jealous that he had all the stuff I wanted, but was highly appreciative of being able to go to his house. He already had a SNES, so we would raid Blockbuster when his mom decided to for the latest games. Later, he got the original PlayStation, and then the N64. My jealousy only intensified. 🤣 He obviously had more time to play than I did, and destroyed the fuck out of me anytime we played. Especially in Star Fox 64 and GoldenEye. @bforreal504 participated in the shenanigans. Nevertheless, it was fun. The tides turned once my sister surprised me with my own N64 with a copy of Star Fox in '98. I got really good really fast. And then I kicked Tim's ass until he got tired of it. 🤣 Later, once I was able to get my own money and resources, I accumulated more games, and we would take turns going back and forth to each other's places to play. We didn't have particularly good home environments, so that was our outlet. That persisted until I left for Army BCT. Fuck, man. TimWeek (now in Technicolor) __________ Tim was ... different. Much like I am. We were the oddballs, and that is what made us stand out. We had an interesting dynamic: though we were the same in many regards, we were also different. He was never one to sugar-coat or lie to people, and that trait rubbed off on me (in a positive way, I believe). He also preferred if people did the exact same thing for him. Historically, I chose the tactful approach to avoid pissing people off, but the more I learned, I realised that some people just need to hear the blunt truth. We both staunchly opposed willful ignorance and blatant stupidity.
