I hate that this is a thing. I hate that on the night before what should have been her wedding day, she wasn't laughing with her bridesmaids but instead a forensics team were establishing a crime scene around her body found alone in the bush. I hate that we know what he did to her body. I hate that at this minute she would have been sitting down getting her makeup or her hair done while people fussed over her, but she's not. I hate that she was at work, just going about her life, but she wasn't safe. I hate that her right to be safe was taken. I hate that she is an example of how life can be stolen like this and everything she's dreamed of was snatched from her. I hate that we have to think about how if we hold our keys correctly it might help us fight someone off if we were attacked. I hate that we need to wonder if walking alone at any time is a safe option. I hate that we're told how to avoid things like this happening to us. I hate that we can't just know we're safe all the time. I hate that this happens so much. I hate it. This shouldn't be a thing. She should be getting married today. She should be starting a new chapter in her life. She should have been safe.

Even without the verses, #Lollipop still ends my life with its awesomeness. #ripStephanie
