Been trying to find it in me to move out of this space since I got the news. I won’t lie, it’s been harder than I wanted it to be. So much of me looks at your evolution and thinks about how full of a life you lived, how many stones you left unturned and how many others you just took a sledgehammer to... and just can’t get past how much you LIVED. And then I remember that the greats who are destined to go unforgotten often leave us sooner than we want and you going so soon almost seems... fitting. Then it sinks in again. The thought that you weren’t done. That you had SOOO many ideas left to give. That we’d only scratched the surface of that FIRE... and gotten to see just the beginning of a woman who truly made herself exactly what she wanted to be along with all the inspiration that came from just watching its happen in real time. Some people only hear about Pheonix legends. We had ours on Instagram. Add to the fact that I had one on the other end of the phone? And just that fast, I fell cheated all over again. And then there’s the pain. That dull numb cold stop that tries to blanket all of my memories with you... memories of some of the best times of my personal/professional life. The memories are the past. The heartbreak is the present. The hope is the future. I’m gonna go... because I know standing still wasn’t your style and wouldn’t be something you’d cosign. As much as I can miss someone who’s passion, creativity and influence is always with me I’m gonna miss you Jas. I’ll see you Cinderella.
