I am deeply offended that people are saying Scarjo didn’t shine in her OWN movie. She very much did and her performance was UNMISTAKABLY perfect, but the whole point of this movie was to give her proper closure AND pass the torch to Florence, who’s Yelena Belova we will be seeing later on in the MCU.
Scarlett had to close this chapter and since we already fell in LOVE with her Black Widow for the past 10 years, it was time for her—and US—to let go. How could we let go if the movie didn’t let other key characters come into the spotlight, such as Yelena?
So don’t disrespect Ms. Johansson like that. Thank you.

It was another trial on her part, and perhaps he was almost impressed. Almost. Truthfully, it was the fact she had been caught every time thus far that disappointed him, and the fact that once again she seemed not to learn. But either she would learn, something, or they would continue playing this asanine little game of theirs. Either way, Ivan spent his time waiting, leaning against the kitchen counter with a small glass he would sip every few moments.
He milled around for a few moments, though he set his glass down when he heard something by the door. Fingers brushing the counter, he took slow steps towards it, and he wasted not a moment to open the door. He didn’t bother to look, he didn’t bother to second guess himself. There was a safe assumption to who would be staring him down from the other side of that door.
Offering nothing but dead eyes with the softest smile, he kept his hands on the door, beckoning her in without hesitation.
“Welcome back.”
It always seemed to end like this. Natallia fantasized about the day she could ditch this place and this life, but the fates seemed to cruelly rip away from her every time she tried to stand up for herself. In a few days, she’d reflect upon this experience and try again from a different angle, but for now--
--for now, she stood bleeding on Ivan’s front step, a dull flame of anger burning inside the pit of her stomach that was only counteracted by the pain in her shoulder and thigh from where the bullets had hit her.
Natallia let herself fall to sit on the steps, groaning softly with her hand clutching her right shoulder, fingers stained red with blood and pink from the cold. Why hadn’t she grabbed gloves?
Her break was interrupted by the sound of the door opening behind her, and she slowly turned a bit to see Ivan welcoming her back in. The response from Natallia was instant as she stood up, biting her lip harshly to keep from crying out before limping down the steps with a pained scowl. Nope. Absolutely not. Why had she come here in the first place? There were too many questions for her to comprehend.
