For the past four years Light has struggled with identifying his sexuality. Every label he seems to choose for himself seems to fail him in one way or another, and he's beginning to feel like he'll never figure himself out. But when he's handcuffed to the detective L during the Kira case, he realizes he has feelings towards the other man that he can't ignore. However, maybe Light's inability to run from his fear this time is a good thing.
