"No, nothing like that." Bennie fiddled with the sleeve of her jumper and adverted her eyes. She'd been putting off doing anything about her situation with Rio. Perhaps she had even briefly convinced it would go away. Most people tended to give up if she just pushed them far enough away; this was different though and she knew it. Even if she couldn't quite face being honest about her family, or indeed, their mother. "I just—" Bennie shook her head. She had never been good with words, especially not the sincere kind. "I wanted to say sorry, you know, for how I've acted." She said with a long exhale and avoided the urge to wince. Truthfully, she still wasn't sure what she was supposed to do with the information. Bennie had spent years just trying to forget, it was easier to move on if nothing was touched. "It was difficult to adjust, I guess... but that wasn't fair to you."
