“Daddy, look!”
The little girl ran to the young boy James, excited to see her friend at the park as well while Cassidy kept an eye out from a small distance as his daughter greeted her friend. Soon, the two were on the playground chasing each other around and doing what many children their ages do, making up little games for them to play.
For the most part, Cassidy kept to himself, finding a seat on the bench and lighting a cigarette as hsi blue eyes remained on his child. As he indulged in the nicotine stick, he finally noticed it was Rio who brought James to the park and not Amelia. “Fuck me,” he grumbled. There was just something about the guy, maybe the two were too much alike to get along. Hard to say, he just knew Rio was a prick.
Soon, Lily was running up to him all excited asking if they could all go together and get a treat. Forcing a smile, he said he would ask James’s father and walked over.
“Hey, it seems they want a nice cold treat. You want to get some ice cream with us?” he questioned, trying this best to be nice for the sake of his daughter. “My treat,” he offered although he wasn’t sure how much money he had.
