Third tower on the Middlesex Association Learners’ outing to Wimbledon yesterday, St Peter and St Paul, Mitcham. Nice to see the Mitcham band who visited Kingston on Wednesday night. Beautiful church, very-Cathedral like and gorgeous windows. Also, metal spiral staircase to a very tiny ringing chamber. Heavy bells. #menatwork A good #bellringing practice night with some nice #trebling/#leading for #ringingrounds, #callchanges and some good goes at #plainhunt. The quick is getting quicker, slowly! 😂 And I was having a go on the tenor (biggest and last bell), bonging along when there was some commotion with the ringers on bell 4 and 5. Turns out they had spotted #menatwork on the #roof of the church. They’re doing some pointing works. I like that the ringing chamber at St Mary Magdalene, Richmond opens up into the church. And I say this every time I walk into a church, but it really was so much bigger on the inside!
