#rin thursday

So as I'm not going to be near the internet for the next few Thursdays I thought I'd have a mini indulgence and share a live. Not just any live either but Wonder Drive live where he's so fricking beautiful I can not even and not just any song but Nervous Breakdown which is this rare sort of gem I've only actually heard live and am semi convinced actually just exists as such because I've never seen it in the uk I-tunes!! Seriously though if you lot get chance chase up the retro version of this on my YouTube page (OMG plug!!) and, you know, buy the wonder drive live because it's apparently now on Amazon.jp if f66 are to be believed!!

In which Rin strolls around Paris and Soul again bemoans that she was fricking working when he was literally just a continent away....though I honestly couldn't have afforded the cost of the tickets for the event even if I could have gone!!! Anyway... Walk is a wonderfully calm sort of song and actually utterly perfect to listen to while out walking which feels deliberate!!!

(Ok so first things first I'm so sorry this didn't happen yesterday, I kind of got on a costume drama kick and somehow forgot it was actually thursday somewhere along the way!!) First love aka: my goodness what is this PV? No really why are you so adorable and calming and look at all these people helping Rin bby out with his little sign project and OMG RHAPSODY YOU PRECIOUS BABY LOOK AT YOU!!!! Oh and man do I love this song on so many levels!!!

Ware yume is a strange PV and one of those Rin songs I sort of appreciate in a back burner kind of way! I mean it has sexy Rin voice and a sort of mellowed out goth sound but it's also not quite the perfect peak of Rin singing that sort of song and so I sort of mentally go "ah that gap there is where an extra guitar sting will be added in later itterations" and so on. Though sleep ruffled Rin is massive plus!!

Have a Rin randomly in a sandy place singing a big old ballad! This PV was the first I watched with the "ok you are beyond adorb and this song kicks so many levels of tooshy it's beyond amusing but what is this???" Head set that pretty swiftly became my usual for his overly dramatic set pieces!!

the last of the trio of recent PV uploads and I'd say I've left the best for last but honestly all three were amazing in their own right!! Anyways have the full extent of Candy Days with it's punch in the face intro and epicly diva styled Rin playing the guitar as though that's something he does every day!! (when really he tends to be one for checking finger positions as he's not always with instrument in hand and multi tasking when you're not used to it is pretty hard going tbh!) Honestly I'm a little eh about how overly showy this one is in production values, oh I get that it was the star piece for Wonder Drive as much as Glorious Sneeker was for Grumpy Diamonds but Hello! Hello! Hello! gave the "my band are a part of this music too" angle of this PV more of a 'family' and 'real' feel because of the lower prodution value and Sun Shines managed the whole "cool vocalist" vibe with much more genunine abolmb with just a disused wearhouse as background. Not that I don't appreciate how shiny it makes everything and thus, by proxy, how much more sort of mainstream it makes Rin feel as an artist but I guess I kind of like the more sort of down to earth and slightly quirky feel older PV's have. (not that the newer ones don't I mean shooting star anyone but you get what I'm punting for right??) The last PV the Kurodalads ever made together!!! Seriously this is such a good show of how BFF everyone in the band was and just what good fun watching them together always was!! Also this song rocks like crazy!!

In which I finally got around to getting more PVs onto Youtube mostly so that I could show you lot more lovely Rin goodness while also pimping some of the newer sounds AND generally being ott about songs I'd utterly consider marrying if they were people!! This week have Rainbow Lovers in all it's melodic, soothing, powerful and just emotive beauty!! The first time I heard this song was while driving to work at 5:00 on a weekday and the moment where you get Rin's voice creating this sort of layer of harmony before he just exclaims that bit of english all enthused and "this is what I want you to do with your life" actually had me properly in tears for how beautiful it was!! Something the PV managed all over again with that lovely bit of sentiment right at the end!!!
