Danielle Feng is no stranger to political networking events. She should be in her element -- but tonight is her public debut as the new leader of the Feng-Lindon Coven. But as she's always believed, pressure makes diamonds. No amount of saying she isn't ready for this will make her any more ready, and it won't take the responsibility away from her. And no amount of loss can take the family and support she does have away, either. Danielle, @fengforhire, her three other younger siblings, and cousin @rimedancer present a united front, resilient Fengs, powerful despite their collective grief. Still, Dani is still rebuilding her own foundations, but with @jonasharding as her esteemed guest, she hopes to reach across the divides between human and supernatural, coven to coven, and even the Fengs to the Lindons to strengthen alliances in the wake of a destabilizing tragedy.

"Jen! Jenny!" she calls out in as loud of a whisper as she dares.

       allie’s sitting cross legged on the floor, opposite one of her plants when the door chimes, sweetly, indicating the arrival of a … guest, she thinks she’s supposed to say. no, customer. but it’s always her instinct to name them as a new friend. the apothecary’s wonderful for this; allie doesn’t have to worry about being too weird, because most everyone that comes here dips on the side of it. at least allie’s not really so lonely. and anyway, here she’ll always have plants.  “ just one second! ”  she chirps, bidding a quiet goodbye to the little pot as she rises to her feet, standing too fast and knocking her head on the side of the counter.  “ oh- ow! ”  there’s only a little bit of spinning, before allie notices a tickle of cold and a pair of eyes, striking to match. curls, too, then, a face she knew. she beams with a dizzy smile.  “ oh my gosh, jen! ”  her hands flail a little bit, she wants to reach out for a hug but isn’t sure what quite to do. so instead, she squeals and meets jen on the other side of the counter, no hug.  “ wow, i totes’ forgot you were coming in town this week ‘cause it’s- oh, you told me, it’s spring break! that’s so cute, i wish it was spring break forever. ”  rocking back and forth on her feet, a safe distance away but with no barriers.  “ anyway, what can i help you with? ”

       but allie tucks that all away. after all, surely this is an adventure of her own. she maintains the lost looking, fluttery demeanor, even under a sign that reads park services. wasn’t the park ranger in yogi bear a bad guy? something with picnic baskets, which is something allie is also very fond of. uh oh. anyway, the light reflecting in this ranger’s eyes draws her in enough to forget, stunning her into silence before the rest of sensation catches up with her. smooth and flowing, allie follows the string closer, pressing her hands up against the wood grain of the station, following the feeling further.  “ hi! um, i guess i’m just looking for a guide? i’ve never done this, like, park thing, for real. i usually just like to, y’know, wander around and get lost. but i figured a fresh start is just as big an adventure as any. ”

        her commitment to the winter thing still leaves her without gloves, but jen has them, so that feels like enough. both of allie’s hands, clinging to one gloved one. they reach a clearing, filled with soft snow and peace, the wind turning just as soft and kind. the sound of swaying tears and sleeping animals turning to the gentlest of songs. allie twirls with the sway of it, letting go of jen for only a moment before she holds both hands out. wiggling her fingers and inviting her in,  “ dance with me! this is, like, the perfect place for it! ” a little quieter, then, with round pleading eyes. " please? "
