I haven’t read all of Negima, but what I did read was that it starts off as a harem/ romantic comedy series and slowly turns into an action/adventure/scifi anime.

While Konoka and Setsuna are important characters, the focus isn’t on them. They’re a background ship. And yes, I saw the epilogue page where it says Setsuna becomes a space pilot and they get married in 2017. I can only assume this means they got married in space. I’m okay with this.

The main character is a young boy named Negi who is a wizard in training. His last assignment is to teach English in high school, in Japan. To teenagers. While he’s a 12 year old wizard trying to keep his wizard powers secret.

There are a LOT of female characters in this manga. We start off with something like 30 of them right off the bat, and not all of them are interested in getting wicky wicky with a 12 year old. 

(I mean, maybe they are? A good deal of them seemed to be.)

Though not all of them are aware of the it, the class contains a wide variety of character types, from the usual student athletes, bookworms, and cheerleaders, as well as a kung fu master, a swordswoman, a ninja, an aspiring cook, an internet idol, a budding reporter, a ghost, a gynoid, two half-demons, one full demon, two super-geniuses (one of whom is from the future), a vampire and even a twilight princess among others.

Honestly, Negi himself was a cute and charming protagonist so I never minded too much and I did ship him with one of the girls. NODOKA IS BEST GIRL SHUT UP
