Tumblr, I can’t believe I have to write this and I honestly don’t know what to say, I’m just word vomiting...

Tonight, I was walking back from a performance. It was 23:30. My place is about a 6 minute walk from the subway station I get off at. 

Someone tried to follow me home.

Um, I’m still processing, as this is the first time this has happened to me at this grand of a scale. A man in a car turned a corner as I was crossing- he let me cross, but as I cross he yelled at me from his window, “Excellent. What a vision.” I kept walking and brushed off this cat-calling douche. Moments later, his car comes back around the corner...he turned around. He slows down to follow at my walking place and tries to talk to me. I give him a “fuck off” look and keep walking. He turns another corner...and returns right back, turning around again. This time, he comes to a full stop. That’s when I knew I had to call someone. I immediately called my best friend and roommate here. I was yards from my place, so my roomie could watch me from the window to make sure I was safe. The man tried to approach me and get out of the car, but I made it very clear that I was on the phone, telling someone that I was being followed. The man drove away and turned another corner. I didn’t know if he was gone for good or if I had moments again, but I was so close to my place that I could go in. I could barely turn the key of my place I was shaking so much in fear that he could see where I live. I was hyperventilating in the elevator.

Every sound in my apartment and every sound outside is scaring me right now. I’m scared to be by windows. I don’t know if I can sleep tonight.
