─── S and, which whipped in the light wind at his face and caught in his meticulously cared for fur (aggravating him to think of how long it would take to get out of every crevice of his body and robes) covered the desolate ground which stretched as far as the eye could see. He’d wandered to the edges of the civilization that the star-gate had opened to in order to find greenery upon that dusty ground... yet all his eyes met with was a plane of emptiness. Certainly, there had to be water sources and plant life somewhere in order to sustain life here, but it was a far cry from the ancient world the sword hailed from. Where they had fields in their own back yard, tended to their own crops; they watched the changing seasons with the cherry blossoms and danced among the naked branches amidst the snowfall. This planet in itself looked a tragedy, stung his nose and his eyes and cracked his lips. An absent lick to the corners of his mouth was only wrought with more of a reminder of the eternal blanket of sand this world had fallen under, harsh against his tongue. The fox clicked his tongue in displeasure, scowling across the desert and deciding this planet was not something any creature should have had the unfortunate fate of surviving upon; a fire red sunset that painted an orange dusk across the dunes and rock formations of the desolate world.
It was possible that thus was the reason for the sword’s surprise, as he turned his back to the wind and brought one hand up to shield his sensitive eyes and nostrils, grinding sharp canines down upon his lower teeth -- that his crimson eyes fell upon a girl of even more brilliant red. The first thing he could think of, with her skin bare to the elements, was how on earth she cared for herself in such a harsh climate; his discomfort was more than apparent from even the barest of time spent outside. The second, of far greater interest, was the grandest musket he’d ever seen upon her back, a futuristic weapon with a size as if it were the oodachi of guns. He had first mistaken it for the scabbard of a sword significantly larger than himself, but upon closer inspection it was, for certain, a gun unlike any he’d seen the soldiers of the Citadel carry. With a wary curiosity the ear-like crests within his hair perked, sharp gaze observing from the short distance between the two of them.
“ Hmm... even with such a big weapon, how does one survive such a place? Even the most wild of animals must find it difficult to adapt. How difficult it must be, to keep the sheen of your hair and your spirits up. What sort of time is this? ”
Spoken like a true outsider - even if he had yet to realize there were many with appearances similar to his, animalistic in nature...
