Rifampicin (and the class of rifamycins as a whole) were named after a French noir film, Rififi (1955). Rifampicin itself stands for Rif-AMP-(m)icin, with AMP referring to its N-amino-Nā²-methylpiperazine substitution.

I have to be off of all of my methylation stuff for three days in order to get a blood test. I was off of them for four days (couldnāt wake up to get the test) last week and then they couldnāt/wouldnāt do the test there so now Iāve been off of them for three days again. Felt wayyyy too shitty to even wake up today, so I couldnāt go again.Ā
Iām herxing hard from my rifampin. The methylation stuff really helps me deal with my herxes - obviously. And I donāt have it. And I feel like fuuuuck.

Rifampin is messing up my hormones which is making my birth control not work which is making me ovulate which is making me grow ovarian cysts which is making me ouchy.
