The words fell on deaf ears, it wasn’t until she started to leave that Cameron even registered what had just happened. “That’s what I should be saying.” He stood up, his fingers running through his hair. Of course, she insisted on leaving, they were at his place and she just told him he was Eros and in order to gain all his memories back, they needed to find his parents whom apparently are also cursed or whatever.  “No, please stay.” He sighed, making his way to stand between her and the door. “I’m sorry, I just...” He had his arms crossed over his chest and a clear confused expression on his face. “I need time to figure out what all this is.”

“I mean how would you react to someone telling you that you’re not really you. You’re a version of some Greek God that you never really believed in. Reincarnation? Really?” Cameron could tell he wasn’t making this situation better, that he was hurting her. “I really like you, and I know there’s something here, and I’m trying to keep an open mind but you have to give me time.”

Trevor’s gaze travelled quickly across her face in an attempt to read her; to read what she truly meant by those five words. He wanted denial to flood him, or even ignorant bliss– but he knew her far too well to not know what she was saying. He’d be lying if he said this wasn’t a fear always in the back of his mind, this gift… this curse held him captive and it was honestly only a matter of time before it drove her away.

He could argue the case, sure, though he know it’d do no good. Gemma was not one to say something in the heat of the moment that she didn’t mean. This had obviously been on her mind for quite a while, and far too many horribly timed jumps later, she’d finally snapped.

“It’s not fair of me to ask you to.” His whispered tone broke the silence, green hues remaining on her eyes; her heartbroken and tired eyes. This was the only woman he ever truly loved… the only one who saw him and all he was. All of those journal entries– meeting her had been such a big event. For all of this to end with five simple words… ‘tragedy’ didn’t quite seem to do it justice.

But he’d been selfish far too long and couldn’t bring himself to beg her to stay. So instead, he nodded gently, letting a stray tear trail down his face as he mentally committed her beautiful features to memory. “I’m so sorry.” The overused phrase was all he could offer as he began to feel himself being pulled elsewhere. Perfect timing as usual… the heartbroken man’s gaze never left her as he disappeared into another time.
