no srsly, i once wrote like 6k purely motivated by someone rewarding me with bits of slutty suga for a certain number of words. it was amazing.

but also im super motivated by knowing people want to read my stuff, and looking forward to the reactions and yelling that ill get for it. :) i also get pretty motivated by plotting out the ideas! esp if whoever im talking to is into it :D

O: How do you begin a story–with the plot, or the characters?

the characters, typically. even though i know i’m supposed to prioritize the plot since everyone knows all the charas already, i like to focus on them & emphasize how i write charas and how my characterization in fandom might be different from everyone else’s. plus, plotting is hard

P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)

a gardener, i think? since i mostly let the story unfold as i go. example: my malcolm/link nsfw was just “oral, then anal” for plotting and i didn’t figure out anything else until i got there, and until i sat down to write some of my fanweek drabbles, a lot of them were just the character’s name and corresponding song. i like planning because i think it makes things go faster, but the issue i have is that if i plan too much i forget that i can change things if it’s not turning out right. leaving things unplanned makes me more creative, i think

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

not particularly? i just kinda take little hints from everywhere. even when i try to look for inspiration from another writer or try to figure smth out from their style i usually just get more confused lmao
