augh…. okay… it’s a little complicated i think

if we wanna go by endgame status than it would be florid and adeuce.

but i can’t help but feel like i only make florid endgame because the only other ship i TRULY care for, when it comes to floyd, is Azul. But Azul endgame is almost ALWAYS Jamil in my head. Maybe Idia depending on the au. But when it comes to my own story with how the game continues on into adulthood? it’s Jamil. Even if i do have a hard time trying to figure out how they stay together with their own situations within their own lives.

It’s not that i don’t like other floyd ships!! no not at all. But it’s usually a one off in an alternate universe and something i don’t put much thought into. Like i quite like treyflo as a concept. but will they ever be canon in my heart? no wayyy… i’m too much of a treyjade shipper. all i ever see happening between them is probably floyd kissing trey ONCE and ♣️ is like “bro wtf”. and 🦈 would be like, “sorry just trying to see what jade likes about ya.” 🤣🤣

i also like floace as a concept. have they ever gotten together in any au i have? hell no!! i like rookflo too but in my heart rookvil will ALWAYS find each other. unfortunately for floyd my top ship with him IS riddle and all his other ships are never #1 in another persons life. i don’t even care for floyuu. i’m more of a adeuceyuu shipper JSSJJS i like other floyd ships too but its never my own personal brainrot and just like, “damnnn look at this awesome sauce fanart of jamil and floyd!! retweet!!!” but never would i do it myself

so for floyd that only leave him with riddle.

but with riddle i have multiple au’s that surround around ridoace. i read more ridoace fics than i ever have florid fics (not counting as a side pairing to treyjade!! but solo!!)

but that isn’t to say i’m just doing a whole “spare the pairs” because i prefer adeuce (im sorry they are such soulmates and i can barely imagine them apart).

because i genuinely believe that floyd and riddle are great and perfect together. they balance each other out in such a beautiful way. my FYP on tiktok is always florid and i save every single video i see of them. in every single au i think of — they ALWAYS have to meet and they always have to have their push and pull dynamic. because that is something impossible — no matter how hard i may try — to write it out. it’s like how you can’t ignore octatrio and their bond, or rookvil and their devotion. And adeuce and their strings of fate pulling them together. Or diasomnia family. or even trey and riddle’s complicated past together and treykei’s complimentary nature. these are bonds and dynamics that are very very very hard for me to ignore.

often i think of florid in the future— floyd ending up not calling riddle goldfishie. and i know that’s a little quirk that i see almost everyone continue on for florid. But for me i think it ends up showing a deeper connection when the pet name is dropped. No longer is riddle the funny little goldfishie. He’s just Riddle. Much like how Jade is just jade and azul is just azul. (aka how i believe that Jade ends up dropping the -san for trey later on).

I just love to imagine a situation where past florid meet future florid. And past florid are erked out about the lack of goldfish comments because it feels so unnatural for them. And when asked about it floyd is just like, “Ahh… because he’s Riddle? idk man.” and future!riddle is like, “huh… wait when did you start stopping calling me goldfishie?” because it just happened so naturally and gradually that riddle hadn’t noticed.

this is all to say that i give GREAT thought into florid.

but it’s also good to note that almost all that florid has— ridoace also have. They have that whole dynamic of one trying to chill out the other and while the other is trying to teach them to actually learn to obey certain rules. ridoace compliment each other in that way too. But with them they actually have canon in game text to show they care more about each other and affected one another.

Ace, by all means, is literally the catalyst that cause riddle to change. be it he did it in unconventional ways but he still did it. He’s the one who walked into heartslabyul and seen that things needed to change (be it for selfish reasons again for he wanted to be uncollared and annoyed at the treatment he had to endure but still). Ridoace have affected each other and— frankly— care for each other more canonically than florid ever have.

and idk i basically wrote a ridoace fic for a creative writing project last year.
