Had we had all the money in the world to spend and we were doing another studio movie, we probably would have jumped quickly into the Necromonger universe and done an Orpheus Descending movie there. But, that was a big movie, and a very fantasy-based movie with 1,300 visual effects shots. We didn’t have that kind of resource.

Here's a three minute long red band trailer for the movie Riddick, starring Vin Diesel.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that this actually looks a lot like a remake from the original Riddick movie Pitch Black but the plot I'm told rattles along like so:
Left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge.
