Coaches too! #RickMahorn #GeorgeGervin #RickBarry #ClydeDrexler #GaryPayton #JuliusIrving continue to perpetuate your greatness. Fans, players, coaches, ushers, parking attendants, janitors, security, law enforcement, announcers, the @Jabbawockeez so many people have #TheEarthisFlat shirts and I hope they now understand the full scope of my vision: #Freementalhealthcare for all kids. That's oddly what your shirt really says. I apologize if it instigates awkward conversations with passersby but that's kind of the point: if a shirt you're wearing gets people talking about how important a nurtured, destigmatized vantage point towards mental health in youth is (hopefully minus any slurs and/or misdirected negative energy) then I know the shirt is doing it's job. I've received a lot of reactions in response to my shirt and that's amazing. Believers, non-believers, religious, atheist, sports fans, scientists, sports fan scientists, people I would otherwise form absolutely no connection with otherwise...this silly phrase that can be interpreted in countless ways has allowed me to begin to tear down these awful taboos surrounding mental health and someday pay for children's out of pocket mental health care costs. People often say in so many words "Erasing the stigmas surrounding crazy/depressed/suicidal people is noble but impractical" to which I, a complete Idealist, respond "Well, I don't care how long it takes or what I have to do or who thinks it's not worthwhile or too difficult or too much red tape or not enough support or understanding or too much bureaucracy or excuses excuses excuses. I have nothing better to do than to help other people. If more people realized this then maybe ideals wouldn't be ideals, maybe they would be realities, and maybe, just maybe people would have hope for themselves and others and not endorse complacency towards what they deem 'impractical'... . . .
