les bosquets parlent de croyances
il faudrait leur donner un nom

they should be given a name

Crackdown At A 16-Year-Old: Police Seizes Highly Toxic Ricin in Zeithain, Saxony
The police searched the house belonging to the parents of a 16-year-old on Thursday morning. He is suspected to have made a mixture of the plant-borne toxins ricin and aconitin and sealed it on vials. The police found a laboratory and the vials in the attic of the family home. The property and surrounding streets were cordoned off for safety reasons.
The district attorney is now investigating against the teenager for violating the War Weapons Control Act, which regulates amongst others also the production and storage of purified ricin. The teenager remains out of prison because he was not known to the police yet.
Ricin is one of the most potent toxins known. The LD50 dose, where 50 % of the affected die, is around 45 μg per kg of body weight. It can be taken up by swallowing, by inhalation, or through open wounds, but not through the skin. It blocks protein biosynthesis by inhibiting the ribosomes. This leads to a generalized cell death. Particularly affected organs and cells are the stomach, the intestine, the liver, the kidneys, and the red blood cells. There exists no known antidote, but a vaccine is under development. Its use as a war weapon was investigated, but it turned out to be unfeasible. Nonetheless, ricin is listed in the annexes of the Biological Weapon Convention and the Chemical Weapon Convention.
Ricin has been used for several successful and attempted attacks. In 1978, a Bulgarian dissident was murdered by officials of the Bulgarian secret police in London by injecting a pellet containing ricin into his leg using a modified umbrella. Letters containing ricin powder addressed to New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, US senator Roger Wicker, US President Barack Obama in 2013, and US President Donald Trump in 2020 were intercepted. In the latter case, a Canadian citizen was sentenced to 22 years in prison. In 2018, the German police arrested an islamist, who was in the process of purifying large quantities of ricin. He was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
This is the weirdest flower I've ever seen. Does anyone know what it is?
A friend told me this morning that this is a castor bean plant and that it's extremely poisonous. Glad I didn't touch it!

#3370 - Ricinus communis - Castor Oil Plant
Named after the Latin for tick, owing to the appearance of the seeds. The common name "castor bean" probably comes from its use as a replacement for castoreum, a perfume base derived from the dried perineal glands of the beaver (castor in Latin). It's not a bean. Another common name, palm of Christ, derives from castor oil's reputed ability to heal wounds and cure ailments. But see below.
A spurge native to the SE Mediterranean Basin, Eastern Africa, and India, but now a widespread weed in tropical and subtropical areas worldwide, usually in disturbed areas.
Quite variable in size and colour, sometimes reaching 12m in height, and sometimes reddish-purple or bronze in colour. Some of that variation is due to selective breeding. Some cultivars are grown as ornamentals, but others are used for oil production. The oil has supposed medical applications, but the seeds are so poisonous that three or four are sufficient to kill an adult human. All parts of the plant are highly allergenic.
The seeds are formed with a fatty growth on one end, so they will be collected by ants, dragged to their nests, and dumped in the fertile soil of the ant's garbage heap after they're eaten the bait.

How do you murder your No Good Cheating Husband? Glad you asked
Poison obviously. But in this day and age it's incredibly hard to poison somebody without getting caught, it's not like way back when, where you could buy a shit ton of arsenic at any old corner store
The poison of choice is ricin, very potent and found in castor beans, which you can buy as an ornamental plant, or the beans for $10 on Amazon, so pretty easy to obtain, just incredibly discreetly, bam you got your beans
Then, how to carry it out, easy enough, burrito night. Grab a can of pinto beans from the store, cook up the castor beans in water (the ricin doesn't cook out to any significant degree), then serve up your husband a delicious pinto and castor bean filled burrito, disguising the bitter taste of the beans with some good amount of spices and also some tequila to help, but not enough to make him puke
Then, sit and wait. It make take a good few hours for the symptoms to set in. Once he starts feeling ill, refuse to take your husband to the ER, "It's fine, you're just drunk/hungover. Sleep it off."
Once he finally kicks the bucket, call the ambulance, "Oh no, my poor husband is dead!"
The police investigate and find traces of ricin in his system, and possibly even digested castor beans. "Your husband was poisoned."
"Oh dear, how awful!"
"It was ricin, found in castor beans. Did you perhaps feed your husband beans before he died?"
"Why yes, officer, we had burritos the night before, I served pinto beans."
"Why weren't you affected by them then?"
"Well, sir, I didn't eat any beans. They do horrible things to my stomach."
"I see ma'am. Did any of the beans look off to you? Do you have any left to show us?"
"No sir, he ate all of them. Oh this is just horrible. Do you suppose they were mixed into my can that I bought at the store?"
An investigation is launched into the store and the bean supplier, it is suspected of an error somewhere, or more sinisterly, an intentional poisoning by someone along the supply chain. All the pinto beans in the country have been recalled. Fortunately, nobody else seems to be affected
You forgot to take out life insurance on him.
