Rice Test
If you are considering breast implants; one test you should run is the Rice Test.
The Rice Test is a quick and fast way to ‘size’ your implant that shall emphasize your breasts. It is a simple and easy test that only requires:
1 or 2 nylons.
200 to 800mL of rice
1) breast implants are sorted not by cup size, but by cubic centimeters or commonly called CC’s. CC measurements are commonly used in the medical profession, so this is why you need to think: cubic centimeters!
2) converting cubic centimeters into millimeters, or mL. Most of us don’t have a flask that measures out cc’s, but with a simple mathematical conversion (100cc =100mL); you can measure out your cc’s just using a measuring cup!
3) picking a size. Most implants range from 200 to 800 cubic centimeters. Using the conversion, pour out your sizer in a nylon to form in your breast cup.
Rice in a nylon, surprisingly, conforms in the shape of a implant. I’ve considered using a balloon filled with water to perform this test, but it isn’t easily practical. Plus, the common balloon I used didn’t easily conform to an implant shape, but held its spherical shape.
Anyhow, once you have your size, situate the rice bag in your bra, resting atop your breast. Walk around, use your arms...see if you are impeded.
Once you find a model that you are comfortable with, consider this your ideal size +-50cc’s.
4) below, I’ve included the sizes considered for my breast augmentation:
The 500cc is the top limit Dr. Schmitt is considering. This is a great mid-point as 500cc is 2-3 cup sizes. This will also add 1lb of weight to your breasts.
400cc is the low limit Dr. Schmitt is considering. It’s about 2 cup sizes and under 1lb of weight.
300cc was our first consideration; but after testing, I would not achieve the ‘fullness’ I desire.
