What kinds of magic are there?
* The answer to that is that there are as many varieties of magic as there are varieties of monster, and possibly more! Magic emanation arises from a monster’s natural magic field, after all, which is shaped by and which shapes their body and soul.
* But on a broader scale, there is a variety of colored magic! Most magic is white, which just provides general kinetic interaction with material reality. You want to grab something, or push it, or the like? White magic.
* Green magic is rarer and fairly valuable - it provides instant healing for most types of wound, and can also block other forms of magic. Aqua can only interact with moving objects (useful for stopping things), orange is the opposite and can only interact with non-moving objects. Blue provides influence over local gravity fields, and is exceptionally rare and tricky to master, with only a few particularly clever and powerful people managing. Purple I’ve seen rarely, but effectively it limits something’s movements when used more passively and corrodes the object if used actively. Yellow I’ve never actually seen, but from the reports I have on the subject it would be able to pierce through things like green defenses, circumventing them in various ways.
* There are theories regarding other varieties, like red, but, well, it’s all purely theoretical at the moment.
