going to take the “its okay to make bad art” movement a bit further and say that its okay to not post your art for everyone on the internet to see. i feel like most of these posts i see are encouraging people to share their art even if they think it isnt good but its hard to claim that art can be “just for you” when youre also saying that you must broadcast your art to the masses who will then subject you to their opinions and criticism. you do not have to share that shit with anyone. you dont even need to share it with your friends and family. you dont need to turn yourself into a brand and churn out art on a schedule to curate an instagram following. a lot of us are workers that come home too exhausted to pick up the pen every day and therefore cant commit hours a day to make art. they tell you that with enough work and dedication that anyone can “make it” but its okay if you dont wanna burn yourself out putting in that much effort. your art can just be for you. if you struggle with letting others’ opinions of your work control your output then i challenge you to commit to never ever posting your art anywhere
