       she knew as soon as she felt it that she’d need someone else to pop her shoulder back into place, and the only one she could really ask to do that was her own wife. she still feels guilty as she comes to máire an hour after the fight, not even meeting her wife’s eyes as she holds one of her arms by the elbow.

   “máire, i’m sorry, i– can you help me?” 

       the barghest comes closer and touches her hand before sighing, and emilyn still can’t meet her eyes. she feels guilty for all of it– like she should have been able to walk away without any injuries or she at least should have been able to heal her own ailments. the only problem was that if she tried to put this back into place herself, she was likely to get it wrong and mess her shoulder up even worse for even longer. when m says that, the blonde simply nods and closes her eyes, though she knows she can take it. 

   even if there’s a small sound of discomfort when máire finally does get em’s shoulder back into place, she hardly acknowledges it at first. em sighs and tries to roll her shoulder back to be sure it’s in place, but ends up shaking her head. she could always alter the bone structure of all of it to fit better, but that seemed like a big project. instead, emilyn sighs and gives her wife a tired looking smile.
