Caring for a precious rhino 🦏 matriarch This is a #Repost @careforwild with @get_repost ・・・ Important rhino update from #CareforWild: Over the weekend the Care for Wild team saw Lunar, our oldest rhino and the matriarch of all of our orphans, struggling to walk and showing signs of weakness. Thanks to the quick response of the staff and the guards, we were able to get Lunar resting and under observation quickly. With the help of incredible veterinarian Dr Albertus Coetzee we were able to get blood samples and urine samples to determine the cause of Lunar’s illness. Within less than a day we got the results that show us she is suffering from an extremely rare tick-borne related illness. We are currently in the middle of treating Lunar to get her back to the strong and amazing rhino cow we have always known, but are facing huge veterinary costs due to the ongoing treatment plan. If you are able to donate towards the costs of Lunar’s veterinary treatment please click the link in our bio. Thank you all for your continued support. #careforwildrhinosanctuary #careforwildafrica #Rhino #Rhinoceros #RhinoMatriarch #Matriarch #Sanctuary
