day one of the joust brings forth the highest attendance , competition so thick in the air one could taste it. before each match jousters are allowed to request the favor of another , a loved one , a lover , or someone they respect. favors have a long standing history of inciting drama and anger , what shall be the results of todayβs ?Β

prince abraxas requests the favor of his newly betrothed, the lady sharra arryn. he makes a grand gesture of removing his helmet to share a sweet kiss, earning plenty of displeasured grumbles from those still of the belief that pda was reserved for wedded couples. he rides against lord daryon harroway, an experienced jouster expected to win. the crowds gasp when the princeβs lance strikes the lord mid chest and the lordβs own barely graces the princeβs side. the prince is awarded the win and advances to day two.

zeki rivers rides against princess visenya targaryen
princess visenya requests the favor of her niece, visera waters. many disapproved grumbles circle the arena, but visenya happily offers her favor and well wishes to her aunt. zeki requests the favor of his niece, dilan frey, as well, the girl giggling before offering it with the help of her mother, aiyla frey. zeki is victorious in knocking the princess from her horse, minor injuries on her part sustained as he advances to day two.

lord erich requests the favor of the new ruling lady of the reach, lale tyrell. shocked gasps slip through the crowd at such a public display. will he give up his heir seat for her? will she renounce her seat for he? rumors begin to spread like wildfire. he rides against lady nara wynch who choses no favor at all, which may be her downfall as lord erich comes out the winner and advances to day two.

lord mazhar baratheon seeks the favor of his bastard daughter, elif flowers, earning many disapproving murmurs as her mother, lady vareena tyrell, offers it on behalf of her daughter. he rides against lord xavion beesbury who shocks the crowds by not requesting the favor of who many believe to still be his wife, lady isabaelda. whispers rise throughout the entire arena, but there is no longer a question to the rumor that the ruling couple of honeyholt have ended their marriage. lord mazhar takes the win just barely and advances to day two.

lord rodrik seeks the favor of his wife, lady alicent arryn, the two sharing a sweet moment before the joust. the couple seems to almost glow with their excitement over the pregnancy they just announced. he rides against ser maygen estren, an accomplished jouster and knight. the match was expected to be a tight one, so shock goes throughout the crowds when ser maygen misses her mark and lord rodrik strikes her chest full center. he wins and advances to day two.

lord mavrick seeks no favor upon entering the arena, and he rides against ser karne foote who is well known to be the knight with the highest ego and best of luck. however, his inflated sense of self worth takes a tumble with him as he is knocked from his horse by lord mavrick who then advances to day two.

lord erling dondarrion requests the favor of his betrothed, princess visenya targaryen. the princess declines publicly, all in the arena sharing a shocked gasp. to rub salt into the wound, the princess proceeds to offer her favor to ser dannya lake who accepts proudly. ser dannya wins the match and advances to day two.

daeron rides against ser anabes gaunt
daeron also seeks the favor of his cousin, visera waters, who happily offers another member of her family her favor. he rides against ser anabes gaunt, the projected winner of the match as none know who this man is. he shocks the arena by shattering his lance upon impact and knocking the knight from their horse. daeron advances to day two.

lord alistair manderly requests the favor of lady aiyla frey, earing many shocked gasps throughout the arena. he rides against lord aeron wendwater who is a newcomer to the world of jousting. his inexperience screams loudly as his own lance completely misses lord alistair and the ruling lord of white harbor comes out as the victor and advances to day two.

lady circe baratheon requests the favor of her newly announced betrothed, princess rhaenys targaryen. the princess happily accepts. lady adaline beesbury earns impressed stares as she boldly requests the favor of her betrothed, lord willas marbrand who accepts with a chuckle. lady circe comes out victorious while lady adaline sustains minor injuries.

lord tobias requests the favor of his sister, lady calla, who happily offers the gesture of luck. this luck seems to pay off a bit too well as lord tobiasβs lance splinters and pierces through the gap in lord shaleβs armor. the lord farring is knocked from his horse but the blood pools quickly, heβs announced dead on sight and lord tobias advances to day two.

lord vernan rowen requests the favor of lady ferah tyrell, whispers roar while the lady accepts, offering her well wishes to the eventual winner of the match.

to no surprise at all the new king requests the favor of his wife, queen ravella. she happily offers and the two share a sweet kiss before the king moves to his position. he rides against lord timur blacktyde who quickly takes the spotlight as he requests the favor of princess nymeria martell. surprised yet again, the princess accepts and offers the lord her well wishes. it seems her favor was not enough to save him, however, as the lord is thrown from his horse by the kingβs lance and sustains minor injuries while harrion advances to day two.

lord bryran is expected to be the winner of this match with the targaryen princessβs sworn sword, many not knowing the skill the man possesses. he requests the favor of deirassi who happily accepts and offers him her well wishes. as the pair race towards each other, the lordβs horse skitters at the last moment, and victarioβs lance knocks into his poorly made helm. a sickening crack can be heard throughout the north as the lord tarly flings from his horse, neck completely snapped. victario advances to day two.

princess kaelys makes their debut joust against lord corlin cerwyn, a rude and egotistical noble many would like to see knocked down a few pegs. the princess boldly requests the favor of their first mate, soren snow, which earns plenty of disapproving looks from the mainlanders. the underestimated princess is successful in teaching the lord a lesson, striking him while he barely hits her side. the princess advances to day two.

prince ryon martell seeks the favor of his betrothed, lady denyse redwyne who offers it readily. he rides against lord trentan dalt, an accomplished warrior of dorne. the match is close, but prince ryon is announced the winner and advances to day two.

lord lukas harlaw rides against ser gerrat frey
lord lukas requests the favor of prince daegon greyjoy, earning much laughter from their fellow ironborn and disapproving glances from the mainlanders. the prince happily offers, dramatically blowing a kiss to the lord. he rides against ser gerrat frey, a once upon a time famous jouster out of retirement for the new king and the new king alone. however, the man should have stayed at the crossing, as lord lukasβs lance hits him square in the chest, splinters, and pierces through his old armor, impaling him atop his horse. the blood is a clear indicator that this is the last ride of ser gerrat and a loss of house frey. lord lukas advances to day two.

prince rhaegar unsurprisingly seeks the favor of his wife, princess reila targaryen. the princess is all smiles as she offers the wreath of flowers and leans down to kiss her husband good luck. prince rhaegar is victorious while lord brennard is left to lick his wounds after boasting of how easy it would be to best a prince.

lord regnar drumm rides against ser deran of the westerlands
lord regnar seeks the favor of his bastard daughter mysaria sand , child of lady achara fowler. some in the crowd have yet to learn the true parentage of the triplets , gasps and smiles can be seen throughout. mysaria offers her favor to her father with a bubble of laughter. lord regnar wins the match while ser deran suffers minor injuries from falling off his horse.

lord geriant dayne rides against lady beylee fowler, requesting the favor of his former betrothed, lady melina hightower. she accepts, offering the gesture of good luck with all eyes upon them. has the new ruling lady not been seen cozying up to the targaryen prince? her favor does the trick, lord geriant wins the match and advances to day two.

an unsettling air falls upon all of those in wintefell after the joust, so many unsure of whether they should leave or stay. the new king invites all to stay, feast, and remain warm with the approaching winter storms. hushed whispers all but scream questions of the fate of ser lynderly.
the arrival ofΒ ser domeric lynderly from the wall does nothing to silence these whispers, rumors circulating like a wildfire unstoppable in the northern frosts.
but those frigid airs only grew stronger.
the winter storm grew, and grew, and grew, despite not being expected for weeks later. snow descends upon winterfell in true northern fashion, winter is here early indeed. within days the roads become impossible to travel, and a sad realization is the first thing to silence those incessant whispers of the joust.
nobody is going home anytime soon.
you are free to work this in as you wish, either in new threads or over the days the snow grows. basically, work it in however works best for you/your characters bc this is meant to be what binds everyone to one location for the rp, not something major that would require a change in current threads. eventually you will have to involve this in all threads, but by no means does anyone have to force it in to what they have going now. i hope this makes sense, if not ask away ! a follow up for our jousterβs fate will come eventually after some more demon plotting. happy writing !!!
also as it is december (almost) and i know this is a heavy time for many a folk, the same sort of rules apply for activity. try to post at least twice every seven days, but if at all be sure you are posting something in seven days, and not always to the same thread(s). for new characters, though, you have to be past that threshold with at least 3-4 active threads per character / not recently on activity check. if you do end up on activity check and need more time to make your posts, please donβt hesitate to reach out to the main ! this rp isnβt in the business of kicking people who want to be here, but we also canβt just have people holding roles upon roles + fcs and just not posting on them, or favoring things like ships when this is a group rp not an indie rp.Β
over all try to be as active as you can, message when you canβt, and try to make sure you arenβt ignoring the common curtesy rules in a rp (posting to more than the same few people, plotting with new members, clearly favoring characters/threads) so everyone here feels welcome even in this busy season !

after near three blissful or chaotic months apart , the ravens slowly begin to filter in. many are weary , expecting the targayren seal to be planted upon the letters , so imagine their shock to discover that of a wolf.
with regret this letter has been written, king tylon stark has passed.Β
you are cordially invited to attend the coronation of prince harrion stark as he ascends the throne as the king of the north. there will a tournament and festival to honor the new rulers of the north, as well as celebrate the great reign of king tylon.
and so their travels begin once more to pay respects for a great king and witness the crowning of prince harrion and princess ravella. despite the chill, the welcome in winterfell is warm and somber, but the commonfolk have come out of the woodwork to celebrate their new king and queen.

the festival is nothing intense, just food + good vendors coming out to sell their wares and monopolize on the high traffic in kingβs landing. the fur vendors have come out in droves, of course.
the coronation takes place on the first official day of the festivities, but many of those vendors have been around for the days leading up. we wonβt actually write that event due to time constraints.

OOC INFOΒ .Β the kingβs death is a direct result of the poisoning from the maester even after months of trying to treat him. his funeral was held prior to the arrival of many but feel free to have any northern houses have attended + arrived in time.Β
this will place our characters as traveling through early winter, snowy but nothing that canβt be traveled safely if done right. it will be a stark change for many southerners who have never experienced snow before.

tensions for the final joust are high as many recover from the gory sights of the day prior. talks of cancelling the joust circulate but are ultimately shot down, is it vanity that prompts the continuation ? some of the darker personalities look down upon house stark for the decision, but both finalists agree to dedicate the joust to the memory of lord orwyn royce.
flags of the vale and house royce nearly overtake the arena, many choosing to support the ruling lord and honor his wifeβs kinβs memory. no member from house lynderly dares step foot into the arena.
both men mount their horses, sights locked on one another as they lower their helms and are handed their lances. the cheers roaring throughout the arena are nothing but a distant murmur to both jousters.
at the sound, they ride, aims true, the sound of their lances splintering heard throughout winterfell as they meet their targets. king harrion takes a lance to the shoulder, lord rodrik to the side. neither man is unseated, neither crowned victor just yet.Β
both jousters ready themselves once more, all in attendance at the edges of their seats for this finale. as the ride towards one another no soul can guess who will come out victorious, but as lord rodrickβs lance strikes the king in his center chest and unseats him from his horse, the winner is clear.Β
lord rodrick is the victor, and promptly crowns his wife, the lady alicent arryn, the queen of love and beauty of the tourney.
day four of the joust brings forth almost the highest attendance yet, all of westeros showing out to cheer on their picked favorites. the bets have been placed, stakes high, what will today bringΒ ?
match one
lord mazhar bratheon rides against lord rodrik arryn. both men have shown skill in their jousting thus far, the match is highly anticipated and many argue could be the best of the day... though, they argue against two other highly ranked matches as well. the lords mount their horses, determination in their eyes as they meet across the arena. at the sound they take off, both lances striking their opponent in the dead center of their chests. a collective gasp is heard throughout the arena as none other than lord mazhar baratheon is the first to slip from his horse. lord rodrik advances to the next day.
match two
king harrion stark rides against prince ryon martell, still on his high horse for defeating his uncle the day prior. perhaps it was the boasting and celebrating? perhaps by pure skill alone? but as the jousters ride towards one another the princeβs lance slips sideways and misses the king completely while harrionβs lance strikes true center. the king advances to the next day.
match three ( tw: blood, death, murder )
ser gurnar lynderly has gathered quite the following throughout the matches, a brash and bold man that hardly gets along with any other knights of the vale. he rides against lord orwyn royce, kin to the current ruling lady of the vale with a modest reputation for himself. heβs been the underdog throughout the entire tournament, many anticipate his face at the finals.
but as the jousters ride towards another and lord royceβs lance strikes true, what happens next is not expected at all. a sore loser indeed, as lord royce rides his victory lap itβs ser lynderlyβs anger that all witness. when the lord rides near his sword strikes out, slicing the manβs ankle and causing him to fall from his horse. but the knight is not done yet, proceeding to let all witness as he stabs his blade through the narrow gap of armor at the lordβs neck. the arena is dead silent throughout all of this, but a screaming cry can be heard throughout from the lady of the vale as she watches her family member die on the field.
the response is quick, knights filing into the arena to detain ser gurnar and drag him off to the dungeons.
no man from this match advances to the next round.
