"Where There Is No Sound" - 2019 is Graphite, Ink and Soft Pastel on Paper · This is the second of the two pieces Ill be showing tomorrow night at @revolutiongallery for their "The Year The Earth Stood Still" show! Can't wait to see the full lineup of artists! Super stoked 🤘✨🎉 · This piece was one of the first I ever rendered using soft pastel as a foundation to draw with graphite over top of. I figured out that I needed to aggressively brush off any loose pastel pigment with a stiff bristle brush before drawing with graphite again over top. it's surprisingly resilient when you really grind the pigment into the paper and it stays within the lines pretty well if it's applied properly. I've been using watercolor for my "under painting" when I work in color, but pastel definitely still has a role to play in my future approach. · Still working on teaching my son (9 month old puppy) some manners before I jump into any new projects, but I'll be back to hammering out some work soon enough. 🙌 · #revolutionartgallery #revolutiongallery #TheYearTheEarthStoodStillShow #DarkSurrealism #Surrealism #Visionary #Creep #VisionaryArt #Monster #DarkNess #Drawing #Creative #Creation #Gross #Nasty #Demon #imp #Tooth #Teeth #Flowers #Faith #Portrait (at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNJFuZTnNBI/?igshid=1tvd7lkptjij5
