Poe is short for Hippo 🦛 of course but here’s what I wrote in the Patreon post where people chose his name: Poe... Short for Hippo ;) Fitting because he is the cutest Hippo I've ever seen. Had to do it! Now the english origin of the name Poe actually means Peacock, but I mean let's just say this it this way; This little boy is going to heal and evolve from a neglected and abandoned puppy to a magnificent, beautiful, strong dog that while strut his stuff... Much like a Peacock! So either way, Poe seems a fitting choice for the poll ••• Now we have his name and we are on our way to his new life! Because of the stigma surrounding them, we felt it was important to dedicate our energy and efforts towards saving them. Throughout the years you all have supported us and we saved hundreds of neglected and abused pitbulls with your support. Now after 7 years of being a bully-only rescue, we are able to expand our reach to not only other dog breeds, but cats as well! 2020 was an amazing year where we tested waters in kitty rescue over at @rescuelikeaboss, to see what we should expect, the logistics of it all and more. You’ve seen Fig’s story and the condition she was in when we brought her to RR. Now, with your help, we have rehabilitated Ms. Fig 🐈‍⬛ and she will be our first cat ever up for adoption!
