#reverse garbage

Out the front of a huge community-run re-use/re-cycle barn. They've got all kinds of weird and wild shit in there - most of it discarded by light industry - for cheap. Marrickville.

I have set about cleaning the items (methylated spirits works a treat), and have so far failed to cut the acrylic with a jigsaw and a couple of hand saws, however eventually found the appropriate tool (small toothed handsaw). I cut down the clouded acrylic down to size and replaced the glass frame with this plastic one after quite a lot of hand sanding (!!!!). In terms of a light source, I am using some EL wire (borrowed from friends), which so far makes my project entirely crafted from recycled materials. The EL wire doesn’t have too drastic of a glow, so is perfect for illuminating only a small part of my sign/ light frame. I drilled holes into my plastic frame in order to lace the EL wire through (also quite a time consuming process), and i should be able to hide the battery pack behind the frame on the non-illuminated side. An advantage of the EL wire is that it is battery operated, thus is mobile, and doesn’t leave me requiring a powerpoint. 

So if I wanted to get a hold of old/broken musical instruments in Sydney, what would be the best way to go about it?
