Day 2: Promptober/Fictober
2.- Their love interest
Clay “Hannibal” Bailey
Hannibal is name that everybody that were well versed in magic, and the ones that belong to Heylin, knew by heart. And feared by nature. Only very, very few people knew the human name he used to have... Jack was one of those few ones, of course.
It had been him, Hannibal, who started him in magic and the one who trained him to be the dragonlord he was nowadays. Therefore, Jack owe him too much. Although... Hannibal had also been the responsible for his own fall, by pushing his pupil to the point when he had to stab him in the back. Quite literally.
The Heylin demon was more a beast than a man; terrifyingly powerful, without any real motivation, without wishes long-term... He's a man that only wants to see chaos and death destroy everything and for Jack, that wishes to rule and keep the statu quo in order to archive it, that was something he couldn't tolerate.
And then, of course, there was the fact that Jack never actually stopped having feelings for the man. Could be because was a constant source of knowledge and power that was always close to reach to, or maybe because was his first same-sex lover, or just because got used to be close to him and to deal with him but, even when they technically were enemies for a short time, Jack felt his knees got weak when Hannibal gave him the first sharp, crazy smile when they meet again.
Or maybe was just his type, couldn't be completely sure, but didn't took him long to realize he wanted a more intimate relationship with his time-ago-master.
It was no easy, of course. Jack knew very well that even if was weakened by his time in the Ying Yang World, Hannibal had the power and experience in combat to fight him and this tine, Jack wouldn't have the surprise element on his side. And Hannibal... Well, Jack couldn't know what he was thinking exactly. Never could, to be honest.
Was so hard to be relaxed while being with the other, for both of them, but like always Hannibal was the first one that got used to it, which allowed the situation to relax in a natural, nice way.
As they both adapted to the other, Jack ended realizing that what failed in their past relationship could have been his own lack of maturity, and his inability to read the subtle. Because now (even if still was almost impossible to read Hannibal), there were those moments were he could see clearly that the demon was as comfortable as himself with their relationship.
It was complicated, and maybe impossible to be 100% sure about it, but Jack had the impression that those long hugs and makeout sessions, besides the incredible sex they had, were subtle clues about how things were getting better for them.
