I got a Hyperkin Retron HD NES system with the Core Gaming gift card my mom gave me (thanks mom). This system works really well and the up scaling to 720p HD looks really great. The sound is pretty good too. The Hyperkin NES controller/game pad (comes with one) feels nice and the buttons as well as the d-pad are responsive, very much like the traditional NES gamepads. The games/cartridges my son and I played were LifeForce and Punchout. Both ran exactly as they should and looked exceptionally clear on the HD TV when set for 720p. It’s nice because it is top loading, not like the original NES that you push in and click down. Pulling the cartridge out requires a bit of force, but maybe that will break in over time. You can also use the official NES controllers and gamepads too, which is awesome. I tested my old NES controller and it fit perfect and worked as it should. It also has some weight to it, feels really sturdy, and not hollow and clunky like some other NES clones. It is really solid and looks nice too. I like their glowing notched logo on the corner of the system too.... very nice touch. I’d definitely say this system is a must have for those looking to play their NES games/cartridges in HD. Also Core Gaming in Salem NH is awesome! They have a ton of retro games as well as some new stuff. They don’t price gouge either like some places. These guys are really cool, are gamers too and very knowledgeable. It is nice to go to a video game shop that knows what they’re talking about. My son and I could spend hours in this store. He loves this store as much as I do. Finally a store near me that is truly for gamers! #nes #retron #retronhd #retrogaming #videogames #gamer #misterfitshace #yeoldgamer #games #coregaming #retrohd #hyperkin (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/B74oIdKH91f/?igshid=hr4yu2bseg1z
