These two #C64 machines used to have about the same #Yellowing. Thanx to three days of #RetroBrighting in the sun, no chemicals, one of them now looks pretty amazing! retr0bright続報
PC88MCのキーボード、文字通り驚きの白さに！冬なのでベランダにほぼひと月くらいは放置。時間かかるなぁ。でも仕上がりには大満足です。
Macintosh LCIII を retr0bright
Macintosh LCIII のデザインが好きで筐体を4個持っている。NASサーバーや録画サーバーの入れ物にしている。
黄変したプラスチックを白くする retr0bright というのを知ってやってみたくなった。
retr0brightで検索するとゲームボーイをワイドハイターと太陽の紫外線を利用して脱色しているのが多いが、 LCIII は大きいので液体だとコスパ悪い。
そこでなにか良いのはないかと調べていたらyoutubeでアメリカ人が髪の毛を脱色するドロっとしたのを使っていたのでAmazonで似たものを購入した。
紫外線は太陽光を利用したが、脱色にムラが出たのでやめた。
CDBabyからのドル収入をどうしようかと思っていて、PayPalが使える中国のネット通販でおもしろいものはないかと物色していたら、紫外線を出すLEDを見つけたのでそれを利用することにした。
紫外線の波長がコロナ殺菌に使えるぐらい短くて人体に有害なので、ダンボールの内側にLEDを7個貼り付けて、脱色剤を塗った筐体にかぶせた。
だいたい2週間ぐらいでムラもなく漂白できた。

Finally starting to work on restoring these old CRTs, starting with the #ibm G70. Both work fine, but should look good as new after a good #retr0bright treatment. #oldschool (PS: removing sticker residue sucks. 😒)
