@resworn 2017 is a wild year. The Blue Umbrella thing baffles me even more. Why would the public suddenly be like oh well, this is cool you're a Good Guy. Honestly, I figure it's just because Umbrella sells and they definitely has no plans in a post-Wesker world. Why use the resources you have when you can squander them over the course of a single game (FBC, Alex, and they left the concept of The Family so open and nebulous they could be using it, too).
YET JUST YESTERDAY I DROPPED MONEY AT E-CAPCOM. They know they've got me and they're going to make dumb decisions until they're on the brink of bankruptcy again. I can't believe 7 is the hill they'd prefer to die on instead of listening to investors and casting about their stock drops.
They removed the dumb armor from Chris in Vendetta and this plot is absurd. Just call it an asshole imposter and Let Me Rest...
the blue umbrella thing is the reason why i thought redfield was the dude you play as in uc. i'd prefer his ass to even be hunk at this point. like, i don't understand what they're doing with the world building in this series anymore and it's really sad because THEY KEEP INTRODUCING THESE COOL CONCEPTS RE: ALEX WESKER, THE FAMILY, ETC. ONLY TO JUST DISCARD THEM.
from a world building perspective the whole blue umbrella shit is dumb af and no one in their right mind would believe a "good umbrella" for a second. they supposedly asked chris to step in to prove that they were the good guys and i'm sittin here like this is stupid, who wrote this and thought that this was a good decision
i need to actually look up more about tenstu (tetsu?) and all of these companies because i know nothing jon snow and i need a refresher. maybe that'd shed some light idk. like when are they gonna talk about hcf, they had a hand in the creation of eveline and yet we still know nothing

It's huge because they're the "face" characters used to represent the series. It would be nice if it was more varied (and in terms of someone like S76 not tragic gay where you know he doesn't have relationships). It's more that they're the promo characters, the ones that rep the series. I don't think the dudebros would rage as much if it was, say, Lucio. I am def hoping for bi Widowmaker and a lesbian Sombra.

Cute has its place. Something doesn't have to be tragic, cathartic, angst-filled, or "epic" to be good, important, or meaningful. Imagine if your writing touches one person, they love your writing. It was cute and cheered them up, made them feel safe or confident because everything isn't always sad or reaching to be Ingmar Bergman or Zulawski or Cronenberg. That doesn't mean it's simple, lazy, weak, or anything negative. Love what you write, try new things.

i do have darker stuff but even with that... i dont know. it feels like everyone else has better ideas and a better execution

Honestly, if you want me to, I'm pretty direct and courteous, explain things (especially for ESL since I beta for my Filipino bestie who still struggles with English), and make suggestions if you're interested in that. Everyone makes typos/word mistakes with their brain and hands not quite meeting. Nothing to be embarrassed about.
