Resurrectionists/Ten Thunders - Soul Porter
Resurrectionists/Ten Thunders - Yan Lo
Resurrectionists/Ten Thunders - Chiaki the Niece
Continuing on my malifaux crew for now, latest addition to join the painted minis are Chiaki. I wanted to paint another master initially, specifically Yan Lo, but decided to paint another model that I will probably use with both Kirai and Yan Lo on a regular basis first. So it came down to Chiaki or Izamu. And I’m kinda afraid of painting Izamu, there is a lot of.. stuff on that model. And Chiaki is mostly cloth with very few sharp edges which is very pleasant to paint so that decided it. And she was very pleasant to paint, both technically but also it was very refreshing to paint something with colours other than grey and tan again. Also I had no idea what colour I would use so I asked my wife who just said “pink” so I painted her pink. Also I am not sure what the blue stuff under her is supposed to be, if it’s fire or some magic mumbo jumbo, but I went for a more watery look. Not exactly like water but something like that. It looks decent though.
Resurrectionists - Ikiryo
Started painting this at the end of last year. But then I got into Age of Sigmar and never finished her, and since I just finished painting a complete 1000pts AoS army, and any commissions I had, I figured it was time to finish her before picking the next project. I can’t say I am super happy with her. Not with my painjob but rather with my choice of colours. Had I not already started painting her before I would probably have picked another painting scheme today, something a bit more saturated, maybe a yellow to match Kirai but not as vibrant. It ended up a bit more dull than I had hoped for. And it kinda shows that it was painted not out of wanting to paint it but more that I just wanted to finish her so I could move on.

Resurrectionists - Lost Love
Painted the Queen of Drama himself, Lost Love for my malifaux crew. In the story he got shot trying to save his girlfriend, so I’m guessing he cut out his heart just to be a bit extra. Anyways, he was simple to paint but fun, muscles and skin are always fun to paint. And also messing him up with blood afterwards. I also added some carefully dripped blood on the base that you can hardly see from the angle in the picture but I think it added a lot to the model as a whole.
Resurrectionists - Shikome
Finally painted one of my Shikomes, the other one is in progress but I wanted to focus on just one during the finishing stages. Took me forever to just build up the courage to start painting them and getting an idea of how I wanted to do it. Ever since I first saw the models I knew I wanted to do the wings green and blue but never knew how to get it just right. And then after I actually began painting after lots of experimenting and researching birds and feathers it took me two weeks to actually finish it because I was so afraid I would mess it up. But in the end, I do really love how it turned out, not what I envisioned from the beginning but I still love it.
