Nate1, Omen2 and Res1 of MPC (Master Piece Creators)
Egbert @ 3rd St in the San Francisco, Ca.
The HP piece was done a while back. This mural is part of the https://www.imprintcity.org/the-sprayview Nate1 is a local who has been involved in street art since his formative years. He started out as a Hip Hop writer and still writes. His focus is more on art and design where he uses spray paints and acrylics to portray San Francisco in a very distinctive style clearly influenced by his longtime graffiti experience. He also designs a clothing line for infants and toddlers under his New Skool. Check out his website http://www.nate1design.com/

Camille Chew
Chew is an American illustrator with a very distinct aesthetic and style. She frequently depicts, from her about me on her website ‘themes of mythology, fantasy, and the occult.’ It is interesting that despite having a reasonable niche subject she is able to create an immense body of work that appeals to many people.
Chew has illustrated books on the subjects of witch craft and astrology and also produces many prints, products and clothing via her Redbubble and Society6 online shop. This is becoming more commonplace with illustrator using their designs to generate income in addition to commissioned work through the usual channels.

Jenn Liv
Jenn Liv (Jennifer Liu) is an award-winning Chinese illustrator based in Toronto. Her work is primarily editorial and her strength is in translating article content into a single image, for example, the last image above is for an article titled ‘Why Many Women Can't Get Justice From Sexual-Assault Trials.’
Liv primarily works digitally using procreate on the iPad pro. This is a technique I would love to explore as it is widely used within illustration. (I’m not sure I will ever be able to afford a piece of kit like that though!)
Liv also addresses the fact that much of our media is consumed online rather than print and takes full advantage of this by creating editorial animations for online content. This is a skill i really admire and dabbled with in my last Illustration unit. Viewing her work has reminded me of the impact these moving images can have and to continue to include them within my work.

Sarah Ferone
Ferone is a freelance illustrator based in Philadelphia. Much of her work is editorial featuring in various magazines. She has also illustrated books and created a set of emoji stickers featuring food.
Her work uses a mixture of digital and traditional methods giving her work an almost collage like aesthetic which I really enjoy. Although I have used similar techniques I feel hers is much more finessed and subtle which I would like to attempt. I have included her illustration of her own work materials as I would like to create an image on the same theme myself.

Alison Black
Alison Black is an American illustrator who works in house for Target creating many of their holiday products, Halloween, Christmas and back to school items.
In addition to this she has her own stationary company called Hip-Hip where she produced greetings cards for all occasions. She also illustrates for children’s literature and has created google search illustrations.
Her work is colourful and dynamic with thoughtful composition. When I think about what I would like to do with my illustrative work (although I think I will realistically always work in education with Deaf/DeafBlind people!) I would love to have a career similar to Black’s. Following her work online it’s fascinating to see her illustrations turned into 3D objects both decorative and practical.

Monika Forsberg
Forsberg is a freelance illustrator who uses gouache, sharpie and pencils to create colourful, full illustrations with a childlike quality. She has illustrated for books, her work has been licensed for fabrics and she has also created animations for UNICEF and the World Humanitarian Summit.
Unlike many of the other illustrators I am drawn to, Forsberg uses fairly low tech methods to create her work, this adds a really nice textual quality. Although I do prefer to work digitally it would interesting to explore and embrace the imperfections of colouring pencil and pen.

The Little Friends of Printmaking
The Little Friends of Printmaking (TLFOP) are made up of Husband and wife JW & Melissa Buchanan. They are prolific illustrators who use screen printing as their medium.
Their work covers different areas of illustration, Persuasion and Identity creating posters for events, bands and advertising. Editorial, pictured above, Mr Green advice column in Sierra Club magazine. In addition to this they also create their own merchandise, clothing, accessories and sell original prints online and at events.
Their work is high colour although often with a limited palette. Frequently their images are very full and busy, Often their are multiple characters, and spaces depicted each doing their own thing. Although their work feels very modern the use of curved shape and line has a retro element to it.
