So those Lacunosa myths… one of my favorite canon topics that I love thinking about but hate talking about since I have no idea what direction I want to take it.
In the early days I was 100% willing to play it head on. Back then I had practically no reason to give Kyurem a moral compass in the fallout of the two wars (Truth and Ideals and the region-destroying aftershock); why show remorse to flesh bag humans that fucked with it too many times when everything it knows now is raw and unfiltered survival instincts and rage? Zombie dragon jokes ahoy.
Nowadays I just took that concept and more or less subverted it, looking at a self-martyr kind of approach to divert the peoples’ anger from the wars to this terrifying monster that apparently came out of nowhere. The crashing down as a frozen comet? Who wouldn’t notice a superpower blizzard that has the potential to freeze over the entire corner of the region. Hunting out humans and (partner) pokemon? Maintain the attention, drive ‘em to hate and fear. Sure it wouldn’t magically erase it from history, but it would get it out from recent memory.
